Final UT environment

Explanation:

Madonna: Madonna's space was inspired by her song 'material girl' as I created the building to look like diamonds. This represents the concept of wealth, power and control. Her spaces are large and are custom designed for Madonna's needs such as a recording studio, office space and a performance area.

Prada: Prada's space has a very particular style to it, it is sleak, modern and almost sexy. The roof has especially been designed in that shape so that fashion shows can be held on it.

The Meeting Place: The meeting place is grand, it has stairs leading down into the centre of the room with particularly warm coloured lighting. It has glass hand rails and a large dining table in the centre. A large clock is on the wall to show the clients power over time.

Final Spaces in Sketchup

This shows some areas of Madonna's environment.
This is Prada's elevator. It has strong bold lines representing power, resilience and strength. The windows look out on all directions which are symbolic for having power over the entire world.
This is an image capture of the environment from above (the plan), a front view (elevation) and a side view. I have drawn in the movement of the elevators for each environment to show how they work, the areas they access and how the spaces interact together. There are 3 elevators: Madona's elevator, Prada's elevator (going from the ramp down into Prada's building) and the elevator that goes down into the meeting space from the ramp.

Prada's Space Draft #2

I have designed Prada's space as contemporary and cutting edge. It is very sleek just like the brand. I have put in a floor plan to show the amount of floor space in the building as well as a diagram showing how the movers will be operating. The building is designed so that the employers can go outside onto the balcony to get fresh air and enjoy the building. The theme of the building is triangles derived from my EXP1 as I thought it was effective in taking a building to a new level.

The dining Table

The Clock

I have made a clock that represents power to put in the meeting place. I feel that by having 9 clocks all showing times around the world it shows that the clients are in control of the world as they have power in many countries.

The Elevator #1

I designed this elevator to look like a pod, it has an organic shape and flow to it. This reflects Madonna's concern for the environment. I was influenced by many of Madonna's costumes and outfits which are very modern.

Exp.3 Draft Spaces and Concepts

The Following image is some idea development I did in Sketchup as I was trying to form rounded shapes. I want to continue to develop this concept for Prada's Office. These are the UT image captures of my spaces as they currently are.

Ideas Sketching

A little bit of inspiration

From interlocking leather couches to L shapes building and glass floors, these images, to me, all represent power. I have looked into the latest fashion layouts for the Prada interior as well as a high tech looking space for Madonna.

Prada and Rem Koolhaus "Transformer Building

MashUp

The "intensity" of the    ‘Material Girl's' controversial concert in Russia is massive, nearly $800 billion. Helping,  Italian luxury goods company Prada hosted a party in central Seoul. The occasion was the official opening of Prada's tetrahedron-shaped structure on the grounds of an ancient Korean palace,  the event, a natural disaster and  blasphemy  in the form of a cross.  On the rise  its flair for the dramatic, lending expanding,  the ``Transformer"  160 ton steel structure can be lifted and rotated in an hour in order to create a different shape and interior Branded  that the worst of the crisis may be over as the money is just now starting to flow.  An agreement to set out decency for helping struggling homeowners   is becoming increasingly borderless and vague. The pop superstar signs an agreement to  push forward  efforts to clean up the  luxurylocal authorities are furious about the plans. Many executives nevertheless give orders for a cultural celebration for the banks' toxic mortgage assets.  How does the business community think President Barack ObamaMadonna and  Prada are doing?  complaints trickling out slowly are on the rise and  "We're happy with the general outlines of what he's done; things are starting to take hold."

Plan View of Alfred Nobel's Environment and the bridge inside
the wall:

Images of the ramps, and all of the environments:
Explanation:

I made sure that Alfred Noble was not isolated and cut off from Jacques-yves cousteau by ensuring they had easy access to their meeting place and to each others studios as well as ensuring that their meeting place was large enough for them have space for any experiments they may need to do. Alfred Nobel has a large environment with many shelves to house his library. It also has a peaceful outdoor area and separate spaces for offices and meeting rooms. Nobel's environment is designed to act as the 'head quarters' and office for him to run his factories. Ultimately, the peaceful environment will become the place where he experiments and in the latter part of his life, will write his will.

Jacques-yves Cousteau's environment has a very organic vibe to it. It also has two large empty fish tanks which could easily house large marine animals if necessary, however, I chose to leave them empty to show that the marine tank cannot "duplicate the conditions of the sea". The water and peaceful environment can act as an inspiration for Jacques-yves cousteau. My "dark" texture used in Jacques-yves cousteau's environment reinforces the organic nature of the environment. Cousteau's environment provides the ecologist not only a place to experiment, but also a peaceful environment for writing in.

"Shadow as a threshold"

Shadow as a threshold investigates unknown places, where the obscure is concealed. I found this relevant to my design, as the scientists are investigating the unknown, they are overcoming the threshold and uncovering the obscure and boundary breaking. According to the text, "the shadow threshold velts both the understanding of self and of the self relationship to temperal and spacial boundaries." This is exactly what the scientists are achieving. I feel that the space they work in, acts as a threshold, allowing them to explore many realms. Furthermore, many of their scientific experiments are sensitive to light and shadow, and therefore the shadow velts understanding and sensitivity. Shadow transforms the space through the structure and material as it not only illuminates the space sculpturally, but highlights certain elements of it.

Electroliquid Aggregation

No good aquarium, no tank in a marine land, however spacious, wishes it may be alone, can begin to duplicate the conditions of the sea. And no dolphin who inhabits one of those aquariums or one of those marine lands will not ensure peace[fulness] or can be considered normal.
